CIRCAT joins the European Cluster for Securing Critical Infrastructures

Prevention is cheaper than a breach

CIRCAT has joined the European Cluster for Securing Critical Infrastructures (ECSCI), becoming part of a growing European community of EU-funded projects working to strengthen the protection and resilience of critical infrastructures across Europe.

ECSCI brings together EU-funded cybersecurity research and innovation projects with a shared mission: to foster cross-sector collaboration, knowledge exchange, and synergies among initiatives addressing the security of critical infrastructures and essential services.

Through its participation in the cluster, CIRCAT will connect with more than 70 EU-funded projects working on complementary challenges in cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, resilience, risk management, and preparedness. This collaboration will support the exchange of expertise, research outcomes, best practices, and practical insights among projects, stakeholders, and European cybersecurity communities.

ECSCI plays an important role in amplifying the impact of individual projects by organising joint dissemination activities, international conferences, public workshops, and networking opportunities involving policymakers, industry representatives, academic experts, practitioners, and the European Commission. The cluster’s objective is to create synergies and foster innovative solutions to security challenges through cross-project collaboration and innovation.

For CIRCAT, joining ECSCI represents an important step towards strengthening collaboration with the wider European cybersecurity ecosystem. As a Digital Europe project focused on enhancing the protection and resilience of critical infrastructure sectors against cyber threats, CIRCAT will contribute to the cluster’s shared vision by promoting practical, AI-enhanced tools, testing scenarios, training approaches, and collaborative methods that support cybersecurity preparedness.

By becoming part of ECSCI, CIRCAT reinforces its commitment to supporting a more coordinated, resilient, and future-ready European cybersecurity landscape.
