CIRCAT Project Showcased at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair

Prevention is cheaper than a breach

CIRCAT was among the flagship European cybersecurity projects highlighted by the National Cybersecurity Authority of Greece (NCSA) during its presence at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), placing the protection and resilience of critical infrastructure at the centre of the conversation on Europe’s evolving cyber threat landscape.

“Cybersecurity is a team sport,” as NCSA Governor Michalis Bletsas has repeatedly emphasised. The strong response from visitors to the NCSA booth at TIF demonstrated precisely this principle: strengthening cybersecurity requires awareness, education, collaboration and the active participation of organisations, professionals and citizens alike.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the work of the NCSA, its national cybersecurity priorities and its participation in 15 European projects contributing to a more secure and digitally resilient Greece and Europe. A dedicated video presentation also introduced CIRCAT – Cybersecurity Infrastructure Resilience, Collaboration, and Advanced Training, highlighting its contribution to strengthening the protection and resilience of critical infrastructure against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

Connecting European cybersecurity priorities with practical action

The presentation of CIRCAT at TIF was part of a broader effort to demonstrate how European cybersecurity initiatives can translate strategic priorities into practical tools and capabilities.

At the NCSA booth, visitors were also introduced to the new National Cybersecurity Strategy 2026–2030, which places particular emphasis on digital trust, the resilience of critical infrastructure, preparedness and response to cyber threats, and the alignment of Greece’s digital ecosystem with advanced European cybersecurity standards.

These priorities are closely connected to the objectives pursued by CIRCAT, particularly in relation to the protection of critical infrastructure and the development of stronger capabilities for risk assessment, testing, preparedness and coordinated response.

Building a more resilient digital Europe

The strong interest in CIRCAT at the 90th TIF reflects the growing importance of practical, collaborative approaches to cybersecurity. As the threat landscape continues to evolve, organisations across critical sectors need not only effective technologies, but also the knowledge, skills and testing capabilities required to use them effectively.

Through AI-enhanced cybersecurity tools, continuous risk assessment, realistic penetration testing and advanced training, CIRCAT aims to contribute to a more resilient and better-prepared European critical infrastructure ecosystem.

The participation of CIRCAT at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair provided an opportunity to bring this mission closer to a wider audience and to underline a central message shared across the cybersecurity community: resilience is built through cooperation, preparedness and continuous learning.
