CIRCAT Holds Its Third Plenary Meeting

Prevention is cheaper than a breach

The CIRCAT consortium gathered in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 30 September and 1 October 2026 for its 3rd Plenary Meeting, hosted at the premises of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH).

Over two intensive days, partners reviewed the project’s progress, aligned technical developments, discussed the integration of CIRCAT components, and prepared the next phase of activities. A major focus of the meeting was also the successful completion of Open Call 1, with 18 projects selected to join the CIRCAT ecosystem as third-party projects.

The first day focused on the technical and implementation aspects of CIRCAT. Partners reviewed progress across the project and discussed the results of Deliverable D2.2 – Identification of CIRCAT’s user requirements, technical specifications and initial architecture, examining how these results will shape the next stages of implementation. Progress under WP3 – AI-based Threat Intelligence and Real-Time Vulnerability Analysis was also presented, covering the development of the project’s technical components, current challenges and priorities for the months ahead. A dedicated WP2/WP3 Integration Session brought partners together to address one of the project’s key priorities: ensuring that the different technical developments work together as part of a coherent CIRCAT solution. Discussions focused on the integration architecture and interfaces, component dependencies, responsibilities and the roadmap towards further implementation.

A major highlight of the second day was the presentation of the results of Open Call 1. Following the evaluation process, 18 projects have been selected to participate as third-party projects in CIRCAT. During the plenary meeting, consortium partners reviewed the selected projects and the different domains they cover, discussed the lessons learned from the evaluation process, and agreed on the next steps for their onboarding and participation. The partners also discussed expectations for the selected projects, their future interaction with the CIRCAT consortium, and the activities planned for the next phase.

The plenary meeting also addressed WP6 – Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation of Results. Partners reviewed the project’s communication and dissemination activities, discussed upcoming events and identified opportunities for further contributions across the consortium. In addition, the consortium discussed the activities towards the development of the exploitation and sustainability strategy of the project.

Beyond the technical discussions, the in-person format provided an important opportunity for partners to strengthen collaboration, exchange ideas and coordinate their work face-to-face. Partners unable to attend in Thessaloniki were able to participate remotely through teleconference support.

The meeting concluded with a review of the agreed actions, responsibilities and deadlines. Partners aligned on the priorities for the next phase of CIRCAT and established a clear action plan covering technical integration, Open Call 1 activities, dissemination and project implementation.

The 3rd Plenary Meeting marks an important milestone for CIRCAT. With the technical foundations continuing to take shape and 18 new third-party projects joining the ecosystem, the consortium is now moving forward with a strengthened collaborative network and a clear roadmap for the next stage of the project.
